Quotes To Live By!
Quotes have the ability to inspire, motivate, and push people to follow their dreams. They are good reminders that help us stay focused on the things that matter the most to us in our lives. Coupled with the power of visualization, quotes can become an important daily/weekly exercise to keep you and your mind focused and on the right track. Below are 10 quotes that have personally provided me with inspiration to confidently do what I love, and to follow my dreams. Let’s start with the countdown . . .
Number 10 – Do What Makes You Happy
10: “The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered “Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices his money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
Interpretation: This is a longer quote, but it’s a very good one. This one makes me think about how people go to their jobs every single day feeling miserable. Then, they CONTINUE to do so until they feel so unfulfilled that it begins to take a toll on their health! Health should always be your top priority, and I see so many people sacrifice their health for money (and yes, I have most probably been a victim of this too!). It is very important to prioritize your health, and, more importantly, to do something you REALLY love!
The second point I take away from this is the importance of being present in the moment. There are so many distractions out there that can take us away from being alert and present in the moment! From the newest piece of technology, to a new application/game for your smartphone, to the negative headlines you see on TV, it’s very easy to “zone-out” and overlook what you have right in front of you. Open your eyes, be present, and hold nothing but love in your heart, and you will make some very real connections with the Universe!
Number 9 – Perspective
9: “Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die, let us all be thankful.” – Buddha
The quote above, for me, is about perspective. You can look at life through different lenses, and best set of lenses to put on are what I call ‘Gratitude Lenses!’ Gratitude is so, so, SO important, and the meaning I take from the quote above is to always look at the positive side of things, and always be grateful for what you HAVE, as opposed to thinking about what you DON’T have. You can take any situation and find something positive to look at, or you can just as easily find something negative to focus on. The choice is yours, but choose wisely, because the things you focus on the most, you will attract more of into your life! Always try to use a ‘glass-half-full’ mentality.
Number 8 – Visualization is No Joke!
“If you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand!” – Bob Proctor
This quote speaks to the power of visualization! Before you see something before your eyes, you need to see it in your mind! Paint the picture in your mind, really hold onto that image, and see it unfold before your eyes! It is a very magical concept!
